Data and sources
Influencer data has a reputation for being made up. The only useful response is to be specific about where every number comes from — so this page explains exactly that, without flattering ourselves.
The four sources
Provided by the creator
Typed in by the person themselves, with the date recorded. We do not check it unless the profile also carries a verification badge. Most figures on the site are this.
Trust it as much as you would trust a media pack — which is to say, it is their claim.
Collected by Influoza
Gathered by us from something the creator has published. Accurate as of the date shown and no more certain than that.
Good for a shortlist. Worth confirming before a large budget.
From the platform
Read directly from the social platform itself. The most reliable category and, because platform access is limited, currently the rarest.
The strongest figure we can show.
Estimated
Derived rather than observed. Every demo profile on the site is in this category, and every one is labelled as a demo profile too.
An indication. Never a measurement.
The source label appears next to the figure on every profile, along with when it was collected. It is never hidden behind a tooltip you have to hunt for.
What the verified badge means
It means: a person at Influoza confirmed that the creator controls the social accounts listed on their profile — usually by messaging one of those accounts from ours and getting a reply.
It does not mean: that we have audited their follower count, engagement rate or audience demographics. Those keep their own source labels whether the badge is present or not.
There is no automatic verification and no way to buy the badge. If we ever offer paid placement, it will be labelled “Featured” — as it already is — and it will never be the same badge.
Things we deliberately do not do
- We do not scrape social platforms at scale. Publishing profiles of people who never signed up requires a notification and objection route first, and until that is built properly the pipeline is not built at all.
- We do not estimate a follower count and present it without a label. If we do not know a figure, the profile shows a gap rather than a zero — those mean different things.
- We do not sell creator data, and we do not pass contact details to businesses. Enquiries go through us so the creator keeps control of their inbox.
- We do not let paid placement look like organic ranking. Featured profiles are labelled on every card they appear on.
If a profile about you is wrong
Claim it and edit it, or ask us to remove it. Both are free, neither requires you to explain yourself, and removal does not require you to create an account — an email saying which profile you mean is enough.

Demo profiles
Influoza launched with a small set of example profiles so the product could be used and reviewed before real creators had joined. They are invented — not real people, not real metrics, and no real brand is named as a past client. Every one carries a “Demo profile” badge on its card and on its page, and the contact form on them refuses to send rather than pretending a message went somewhere. They will be removed as real profiles replace them.
